4 Ways to Get Ready for the Season- Texas
Posted on 22 May 2024
Hello Wild Rose Women! The Texas 2024 hunting season is nearly here, and it’s time to start prepping for your hunt! Here are 4 things that you'll want to check off your list before the fun begins.
1) Review the Season Dates.
Mark your calendar; hunting season dates for 2024-2025 are now set.
Check OutdoorAnnual.com (or download the app) for regulations and other need-to-know hunting information.
2) Get Your License.
Plan to avoid the crowds and buy yours online.
3) Expand Your Opportunities With Drawn Hunts.
The Public Hunt Drawing System gives you the chance to apply for more than 9,000 hunts throughout the state, including hunts at the unique Powderhorn WMA, National Wildlife Refuge Hunts, and premium Private Lands Dove Hunts. Browse the catalog by area or category.
You can apply for multiple hunts in the same category, but keep an eye on the application deadline dates.
4) Find Your Hunter Education Certification.
Every hunter born after September 1, 1971 must carry proof of Hunter Education in the field. If you have misplaced your card, get a free copy by doing an online search for your certification and printing it out. Then keep that proof in your pocket!
